STAGE_DEV
This development of the STAGE model has been developed for the EC’s DEVCO. The model is designed to emphasise relationships found in developing countries, and set to operate using the STAGE_RDYN system. The model starts from STAGE2 and includes aspects of the STAGE_LAB. However many of the novelties of the model were first developed with Emerta Ariage as part of his PhD from Oxford Brookes University; this implementation is refinement of those developments.
The model is a development of STAGE2. The key features of the model include
- Explicit modelling of Home Production for Home Consumption (HPHC)
- Nested utility functions
- Rural-urban migration
- Segmented factor markets
- Nested production functions for land, fertilisers and chemicals
