STAGE_RDYN
STAGE_RDYN is a recursive dynamic development for the STAGE family of models. STAGE_RDYN uses a new directory structure that encompasses both the core comparative static version of STAGE and the recursive dynamic components. The directories are:
- STG*** (master directory with the *.gms file, the *.xlsx data file, the ‘dataload’*.inc file and optional *.gdx file
- Comparative static calibration directory - files used to calibrate the model
- Comparative static experiment directory - files used to run comparative static experiments
- Recursive dynamic calibration directory - files used to calibrate the RDYN BaU scenario
- Recursive dynamic experiment directory - files used to run recursive dynamic experiments
Recursive dynamic applications should run off any variant of the STAGE model - so far only tested for STAGE2 and STAGE_DEV. This derives from the fact that in GAMS recursive dynamic applications can be implement through a ‘standard’ experiment file augmented with a LOOP over time. Features include
- Endogenous updating of physical capital stocks with partial adjustment to returns by activity and type of capital
- Endogenous or exogenous updating of labour stocks based on expenditures on education or exogenous shocks
- Endogenous or exogenous updating of labour productivity based on expenditures on health or exogenous shocks
- Updating of all parameter calibrations - production, utility, trade, etc. functions - between solutions
- Exogenous updating of
- Activity and factor level productivities
- Population and dependency ratios
- etc
- All features in the comparative static variant of the STAGE model used carry over to the RDYN applications
